When Alings\u00e5s celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2019, the Duke and Duchess and Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel were served lunch under the Crystal Chandeliers in Alstr\u00f6mersalen.<\/em><\/p>\n
Curiosity – At Alings\u00e5s’ 375th anniversary, on September 21, 1994, a very formal lunch was held where Alings\u00e5s Municipality invited important guests from the municipality, the business community and the region. King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended the celebration and appreciated the hotel’s service and the meal served here in the premises.<\/em><\/p>\n
25 years later, when Alings\u00e5s celebrated its 400th anniversary on September 21, 2019, a formal lunch was also held in Alstr\u00f6mersalen, where Alings\u00e5s Municipality and the Church of Sweden invited Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel with around 70 other guests.<\/em><\/p>\n

Alstr\u00f6mersalen is named after the town’s ancestor Jonas Alstr\u00f6mer, who according to history was the one who brought the potato to Sweden. You could also say that he was the one who laid the foundations for the textile town of Alings\u00e5s, which grew during the 17th and 19th centuries. In other words, our finest hall is named after one of the city’s most important people.<\/em><\/p>\n
